MEET MAY
I believe that figuring out what comes next is about more than finding the "right" career.
It's about understanding who you are, what matters to you, and what kind of life you want to build.
My background spans approximately 20 years in behavioral health, including direct care, administration, professional development, and human resources. I've worked in both counseling and organizational settings, giving me a perspective that connects mental health, people, work, and the practical realities of making a change.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Eckerd College and a Master's degree in Counseling from Springfield College. I am a certified Addictions Professional (MCAP) as well as being certified as a senior HR Professional (SHRM-SCP).
My own career path hasn't been completely linear either. I moved from counseling into human resources and leadership, and eventually found my way back to counseling. That experience taught me something important:
A secure path isn't always the same thing as a meaningful one.
Sometimes figuring out what's next means giving yourself permission to reconsider the path you're already on.
HOW I WORK
My approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
I'm less interested in telling you what you should do and more interested in helping you figure out what makes sense for you.
Together, we might explore:
- What matters most to you
- Your strengths, interests, values, and personality
- Career and college possibilities
- Decisions that feel overwhelming
- Confidence and self-doubt
- Anxiety, avoidance, or feeling stuck
- Practical barriers and next steps
- What you want your life-not just your resume-to look like
TRANSITIONS
Helping People Navigate What's Next
TRANSITIONS is my approach to career, college, and life direction.
It combines counseling, career and college exploration, practical planning, navigation, and accountability.
For Teens & Young Adults
Explore careers and college, build confidence, develop practical skills, and begin figuring out adulthood.
For College Students
Navigate majors, career decisions, internships, first jobs, and changing direction when your original plan doesn't feel right.
For Adults
Explore career changes, returning to work, feeling stuck, burnout, or the question:
"Is this really what I want to keep doing?"
MORE THAN A CAREER ASSESSMENT
Sometimes you don't need another list of careers.
You need someone to help you:
UNDERSTAND where you are
EXPLORE what's possible
DECIDE what fits
PLAN what comes next
MOVE forward
That's the idea behind TRANSITIONS.
You don't just leave with a list of things to do.
We figure out what those things are-and help you move forward.
